March 14, 2008, Newsletter Issue #56: No Vacuum Repair for Shorted Out Motors

Tip of the Week

It's important to remember that a vacuum is plugged into an electrical outlet. It's easy to forget this when you're in one room cleaning and the vacuum is plugged in an outlet a room away. Because most vacuums have electric motors and are not slated for wet/dry use, it is very important to avoid sucking up any type of moisture with a regular household vacuum. When the motor shorts out, there will be little a vacuum repair service will be able to do and you'll be in the market for a new vacuum!
